Information was obtained from firm representatives, company websites and Hoovers, a third-party business database. Information on The List was supplied by individual companies through questionnaires and could not be independently verified by the Puget Sound Business Journal. Fishermen’s Finest, which ranked in the top five last year, did not respond to our inquiries by deadline. Only those that responded to our inquiries or had reliable information available elsewhere were listed. In case of ties, companies are listed alphabetically.

The 75 companies ranked in this year’s Corporate Philanthropists List are not just giving cash and goods, their employees also donate their valuable time.

The 75 companies reported their employees spent nearly 1 million hours volunteering in Washington state for organizations such as United Way of King County’s Day of Caring, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Northwest Chapter’s Bike MS ride and Nordstrom’s Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Northwest Chapter.

More than two dozen volunteers turned out and filled all 500 bags with things like snacks, lip balm and toothbrushes — in less than half an hour. “It’s heartening and many people we didn’t know showed up, so that’s wonderful, too,” Domenica Lovaglia said. “I think we are going to have to do 5,000 next year.” The event was held at Metropolist in SODO, a real estate company co-owned by Lovaglia that also houses an event space. Lovaglia said the idea came from seeing encampments all around the city. “We do a lot of philanthropic stuff around here,” Lovaglia added. “It’s part of our ethos and this was a really simple project we knew people would love to do.”

“When designing this shoot, we wanted to create a story that told of a classic romance — a time with beautiful elegance that would last thru the decades. The inspiration for this shoot was brought on thru our love of greenery, especially olive branches. Nothing says timeless romance like the simplicity of olive branches.

We accomplished this romantic vibe thru the bride’s soft movement dress and handmade accessories. The color palette has the perfect amount of greens, whites and ivories with gold metallic accents. The ceremony displayed a beautiful ‘circle of love’ against a wood palette wall. The décor included classic looks with a modern twist — take the watercolor name cards for instance. A fresh Mediterranean meal was served with cheeses, seared white fish, crab legs and marinated olives. The theme was complete with a cake that incorporated a watercolor look equipped with handmade sugar olive branches. It truly was an affair that anyone would feel right at home grabbing a seat.”

In 2014, Domenica Lovaglia and Jennifer Nelson opened residential real estate firm Metropolist and reached revenue of $3.6 million the next year. They now have 36 employees.

A real estate company has set up shop in an old old crane factory in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood. The industrial neighborhood only has 800 residents, but the unconventional location is working for Metropolist and made the growing residential real estate company an unwitting trendsetter.

Launched two years ago, Metropolist is now the 20th-largest residential real estate company in the Seattle metro area based on sales, according to market data company Trendgraphix. Metropolist has 27 brokers and a staff of 10 employees. The goal is to have 60 brokers.
