The Problematic Nature of Real Estate Love Letters

So many of us have been advised in years past by realtors to write letters to the sellers. Such a common practice – our parents wrote them when buying our childhood homes, our siblings and best friends gave us advice on how to best woo a seller. Words so carefully chosen – as we might have done with folded notes to our first crush in Middle School, the College Admissions essay or the pleading letter to the animal shelter describing how you would be the absolute BEST parent to that senior Corgi.

Just as in life, the world sometimes gets smarter with age. Stepping back, we are all starting to questions whether these ‘love letters’ distort our intentions and personal ethics.

We at Metropolist have come up with this hand-out that helps explain to our clients why this tradition should be fading from practice. Please feel free to copy into your own design or contact us at [email protected] for a PDF copy. Click here...real-estate-love-letters

The National Association of Realtors has a good article about these ‘Love Letters’ here as well…..
